Tithing is obedience to God in the area of giving
Welcome to Harvest Fields Community Church! We truly appreciate your interest in supporting our ministry.
To demonstrate our love and gratitude towards God for the grace and mercy He continually bestows upon us, we must adhere to His Word and His will (John 14:15). Tithing represents God's strategy for financing the Kingdom work that we are privileged to partake in. More significantly, the tithe provides us with an opportunity to express our love for Him through our faithful obedience. The term "tithe" literally signifies a tenth or 10%. Tithing, which involves donating ten percent of our income, is an act of obedience as outlined in Malachi 3:6-17. We are essentially returning a small fraction of what is already His. Everything we possess, or aspire to possess, originates from Him and is rightfully His. The Bible indicates that tithing serves as a reminder that God is the source of all things (1 Chronicles 29:14). Engaging in the Biblical practice of tithing instructs us to prioritize God in our lives.
An offering refers to any contribution made beyond the 10% tithe. In Malachi 3:10, God challenges us, saying, "Go ahead; I dare you; See if you can out-give me. "Making an offering allows each of us to enhance our generosity (Luke 12:48). You may contribute extra funds to the general budget, sports ministries, mission activities, mortgage debt reduction, and more. Therefore, take the opportunity; God has granted us the chance to test Him and enjoy the rewards of being generous at a significantly higher level (Proverbs 11:24-25)!
